ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Maruchi Carmona is a Cuban-American Artist from Miami, Florida. She was born in Santa Clara, Cuba. She arrived in the United States via Havana-Miami at the young age of thirteen. Maruchi graduated from Miami Beach High School. She has an AA Degree in Arts from Miami- Dade College and a BA in Liberal Studies with minors in Visual Arts and Art History from Florida International University. Her work has been exhibited in Miami Dade and Broward County,Florida, New York City, New York  and  Union City,New Jersey. She participated in "Latin Views 2008" in Groton, Connecticut. She is featured in private collections in the United States and abroad.

The spiritual process of creativity, so vital for Maruchi as an artist, is conveyed to us, by her approach to capture life as she sees it.   Her works relate a profound search to express her inner feelings to the viewer.  Her abstract mixed media paintings, at times, exude tranquility and balance through the colors of her palette, while at other times, her works reflects dissonance she finds in the contemporary world by adding figures and faces to the composition. Also, they seem to emit a message for everyone to decipher. Oils, acrylics and recycled materials intermingle in her work for color, form and texture.
